MUA Matte Lipsticks

So I recently caved and brought these other two MUA Matte lipsticks. I've wanted Scarlet Siren and Wild Berry since I bought Peachy Keen and Pouty Pink a while ago, and my local Superdrug finally got around to stocking them!

I'm kind of annoyed at myself because I was in such a rush that I grabbed the tester of Scarlet Siren by accident! I've since been back to try and replace it with a non-tester but they didn't have any in stock! These are obviously pretty popular.


I'm absolutely in love with Wild Berry. This is a great shade for pale people who want to try out the berry lip trend, but it's also really buildable if you want a lot more colour. I only applied a little as I fall into the pale people category!

As you can see here, it applies nowhere near as scarily dark as it looks! Scarlet Siren is pretty great too, it's a really lovely crimsony red which I'm a total sucker for!

Face of the Day #7

I am SO excited about the Smokin palette from MUA. This palette is jam packed full of shades that I absolutely love. This gorgeous molten brown shade, 'Broken' is one of my favourites. It's just subtle enough to wear to work, but could easily be built up to really wow for the evening. I think it's a total bargain for £6.

I have also finally gotten around to experimenting with the other MUA matte lipstick from the haul, Pouty Pink. These are also fantastic value at just £1 each. They are also reeeeeally matte though. My lips tend to suffer in the autumn/winter months so if yours are dry like mine, I'd recommend applying a lip balm before you apply the lipstick.

Overall, I am so happy with the products I bought from MUA, and I absolutely cannot wait for the new Luxe range coming at the end of October! Exciting times ahead for this brand I think :)

Face of the Day #6

I am pretty excited about the new MUA palettes I received, so obviously there had to be Face of the Day posts about them!

Here I have used a shadow from the Matte palette. These apply in a really smokey way, I think you could really create something crazy dramatic with these. For work though, I just used one of the neutrals to create a natural look.

 

 

 I have also experimented with one the new matte lipsticks. This one is Peachy Keen, I did have to apply some lip balm under this because these are seriously matte (and it's autumn, therefore, super dry lips). I love this peachy colour, it's not my usual style, but I think it's pretty cute for daytime.

MUA Haul

So I'm sure everyone has heard all about the new palettes and lipsticks offered by MUA! As soon as I spotted them for sale on thier website I ordered them haha! My bank account is not looking too healthy right now..

First up, the matte palette. I'm not sure whether this will get a lot of use, as I reeeeally love shimmery eye shadows, even for work. However, I am keen to experiment and try these out, as I do like neutral shades. This palette was £4 and is available here.

The smokin palette is GORGEOUS. I love it. I especially love the shimmery green and blue shades, and I can definitely see myself having some fun with these in the future. I'm not whether they might be a bit OTT for work, but the more neutral shimmery shades are right up my street. The only downside to this palette, (in my opinion) is that because MUA has included an eyeliner pencil, there isn't a handy eyeshadow applicator. It's not a big deal though, I'll just have to nip to Superdrug and pick some up! This palette is £6 and is available here.

Finally, I also purchased two of the matte lipsticks. I ordered the Pouty Pink and Peachy Keen shades. I am beginning to wish I'd ordered the Scarlet Siren as well though. Maybe next month! For £1 each, these are total bargain, and even if I don't get much use out of them, I won't be disappointed!
