MUA Starry Night Palette

And relaaax. After getting all of those beauty box posts out of the way, who's up for a quick peek at some pretty eyeshadow?

I recently spotted this palette whilst popping into Superdrug and couldn't resist adding it to my basket. MUA palettes are always such good value for money, and I've wanted this one for ages. Seeing it in person, I knew I would absolutely have to have it, the colours are just beautiful and it always seems to be sold out on the website.

The Starry Night palette mainly contains silvery blues and greys, but there are also a couple of dusky lilacs and a deep black. I really like wearing shimmery shadows so this palette is pretty much ideal for me!

Here I've swatched the top row. This has the darker shades which probably won't get much use, but that blue and lilac are gorgeous! I know blue eyeshadow can be seen as a bit 80's, but applied lightly this could be a winner.

This is the bottom row and it's definitely my favourite out of the two. These softer colours will be easier for me to wear during the day, and I'm particularly loving the purples.

New MUA Matte Lipsticks

I've been waiting for MUA to release some new products for a while now, I regularly check their website to see if there's anything in the 'new' section (sad, I know). So I was really excited to see that they had released two new shades of their bargain £1 matte lipsticks! 

 I already own Peachy Keen, Pouty Pink, Scarlet Siren and Wild Berry (my ultimate fave), and I couldn't wait to add Lilac Belle and Fawn Fancy to my collection! I was also quite keen to see whether the formula would be different to the other lipsticks I own from this range. I typically find them to be quite drying on my lips, but most matte lip products have that problem!  

 Fawn Fancy is a gorgeous nude colour, and generally it's not the sort of shade I tend to go for, but I actually think it really suits me. The formula of both of these lipsticks is definitely very matte, and if you suffer with dry lips like I do, you might want to exfoliate or apply a lip balm before you attempt 
these as they do tend to cling to any dry skin you might have on your lips.

Lilac Belle is probably my least favourite. Again, it's not the kind of colour I tend to go for and I just feel like it might be a bit eighties for me! With the right skin tone though, this colour will look amazing.

Even though Lilac Belle wasn't really for me, Fawn Fancy is adorable and I'm hoping that MUA will bring out some more shades in this range that I like the look of! For £1 each, you can't really go wrong.

MUA Haul

Ahh payday! I love to get myself a few little treats when I get paid, and this week I decided to pop into Superdrug to see what I could bag! 

 

Superdrug were offering a free colourblast eyeshadow when you spent £6 on MUA, which was all the excuse I needed to pick up a couple of things I'd been itching to try out! 

I've wanted to give the Velvet Lip Lacquers a go ever since they came out last year, but having seen how pigmented they were, I was little bit scared of them! I decided to pick up the shade 'Reckless'. This is a gorgeous deep red and I can confirm that it is definitely not for the fainthearted! I found it quite difficult to apply mainly because I went a tiny bit over my lipline on my top lip, and then had to work quite hard to remove the staining where I'd gone wrong. These have got some serious staying power and are not easy to remove once they've dried! They're available here for £3 each.

 

I can't resist a MUA palette, and my collection was missing the Undressed Palette. This is a lovely collection of neutral shades, and I'm super impressed by the pigmentation as always!

You've got a great mix of matte and shimmer shades here, but obviously the shimmers are my faves. Here's the top layer of the palette swatched. 

 

Pretty pretty! The top matte shade is barely visible, but I am entirely about those shimmers. That copper shade at the bottom is just begging to be used!

 This is the bottom layer of the palette, and it's definitely my favourite! All of those shimmery brown shades are gorgeous, and the silvery grey at the bottom is fantastic. This palette is currently sold out on MUA's website, but I'd recommend checking your local Superdrug. This retails for £4.

And finally, the freebie! This is a Colourblast eye shadow tint in 'Bring it Back'. I've tried a few other eyeshadow crayons before and not really enjoyed them. I find that they smudge incredibly easy, and very often don't last a whole day. MUA's products have never disappointed me with their staying power though, so I'm interested to see whether this will change my mind! Here, I've swatched it twice, and in the bottom swatch I've blended it a bit to get an idea of what it might look like on the eyelid. It's quite subtle even though it has some glitter to it. Colourblast eyeshadow tints are available here for £2 each.

Overall I'm super pleased with my haul! I love that these products came to just £7, and I didn't lose out on quality at all. I'd love to see some new products from MUA soon though, I want some more palettes to hoard!

MUA Luxe Palette

Out of all the new products launched in the MUA Luxe range, I was most excited about the Pretty Edgy palette. Unfortunately they didn't release it until just before Christmas, so I had a while to wait! As soon as they announced that it was available on their website, I placed my order and it has finally arrived!

For starters, I love the packaging. I'm sure I'll get annoyed at the sticky fingerprints all over it eventually but for now, it's love. The studs make it look so interesting, I really like that MUA are starting to put more effort and imagination into their packaging design.

Inside the palette we have 6 shimmery shadows, 4 mattes, a double ended applicator, and a huuuge mirror. I'm not too fussed about the mattes, apart from the gorgeous pinky rose shade on the end, the shimmers are where I'm at! These are beautiful! Gorgeous dusky pinks and shiny pale silvers, I think I might be in love. This does remind me of the Vintage Romance palette from Sleek, except it's leaning more towards paler pinks. 

Overall, I'm really impressed with this palette! I've been wearing the shimmers this week at work, and they've got great lasting power, even without a primer.
I can't wait to see what other palettes MUA bring out this year, but I'm definitely hoping for a Naked 3 dupe at some point.
