Wantable Intimates Box - April 2014

08 May 2014

I've seen a few Wantable boxes floating around on my dash recently and have been really impressed by the contents. I decided to have a look for myself, and I'm really glad I did!

Wantable is an American subscription box service that provides three different types of boxes. Make up, accessories, and intimates. When you initially sign up and choose the type of box you want (you could order all three if you wanted!) you are given a questionnaire to complete, detailing what you love, like, and dislike. You never receive anything that you dislike, and are more likely to receive things you love. If you subscribe, the boxes cost $36 a month (with postage, this works out at about £30) or if you just buy a one off box, they're $40 a month. I decided to try out the intimates box as I already subscribe to two beauty boxes, and who doesn't love cute undies?!

First of all, the packaging is adorable. The box is small (not small enough to fit through a letter box though!) and discreet. I had it delivered to my home address as I wasn't sure about the packaging, but I needn't have worried. Next time I'll have it delivered to work!

The box comes with sheet of paper listing the items you've been sent, and how much they are worth individually. It also lists your preferences from the questionnaire at the top of the page. When filling out the questionnaire, it asks you your sizing for various items. It's worth taking into account that American sizes are different from UK sizes, but having ordered from the US before I felt fairly happy with the decisions I made size-wise. I tried to avoid anything that I felt wouldn't fit, as I have quite a large chest. The questionnaire unsurprisingly didn't list my bra size as an option, so I decided to steer clear of the soft bras! I also wasn't sure what size shapewear I would be when converting UK to US, so I decided to dislike that as well.

Onto the contents! The first thing I pulled out of the box was this Rhonda Shear camisole. This is definitely not the sort of thing I would usually pick out for myself, and initially I was a little bit disappointed by it. Upon trying it on though, WOWZA! It has amazing support, feels really comfortable, and actually looks really nice. I'm not what I'll wear it with/under, but I'm sure I'll find something! According to the sheet of paper that came with the order, this is worth $39.99, which means this cami essentially covers the price of the box.

The next item to catch my eye were these amazing sleep shorts! These are Betsey Johnson, and retail for around $29.99. Leopard print is not the sort of thing I would usually go for, but I kind of love it in this electric blue! The pink lace is really cute too, and the material is really soft. I've worn them a couple of times now and they are so comfortable!

I also received these knickers from Creme Bralee lingerie. Initially, I thought that these were miles too big, however I've tried them on and they're actually really comfy, if a little baggy. They might shrink in the wash! The embroidery is super pretty, and at $14 each, these are some snazzy underpants!

The final item in this month's box was this super cute pair of undies from Honeydew. These are pretty skimpy but they've got some super cute detailing on them, and they feel like they'll be really comfy to wear. These also retail for $14 each.

The overall value of the box comes to nearly $100, which is amazing! I am completely over the moon with this box and I'm definitely going to stay subscribed. If I had a bit more cash I'd be tempted to try out their beauty box as well, but I'm off to Corfu next week so I need to save all of my money for duty free!

Would you be interested in trying Wantable's boxes? Which box would you choose?

  5. I didn't even know this sort of box existed. I would be so up for getting something like this when I have money again! I like that there is so many options so you're more likely to end up with something you actually want rather than just a generic package for everyone. The last ones are definitely my favourite - thanks for sharing this with us!
